Pancake Bay

We left Sault Ste Marie on Monday 7th July straight off the train and drove 100km north along the shores of Lake Superior to another tiny provincial Park Pancake Bay.

The campsite stretches along 3.5km of beach on Lake Superior and we spent 2 quiet nights here recovering from our early starts of the last few days and preparing ourselves for a few more miles over the next week.

Lake Superior is the world’s largest body of freshwater with a surface area of 32,000 sq. miles. No matter how many times you look at the map and remind yourself that this is a lake it is still completely incomprehensible. It contains a staggering 10% of all the world’s surface freshwater – crazy.

So we had a day on the beach and then headed out again.
