Hiking in Canyons by Charlie

Since we’ve been in America our new favourite sport is hiking and in the last couple of weeks we’ve been doing some amazing hikes. And I would like to tell you some of them .

The first good one was in Zion it was called angels landing, basically you had 1 metre of space and either side of you there was a 300 ft drop so if you slipped you would probably fall to your death. If you are in Zion and you want to do the hike you will have to do a hike called Walters Wiggles. Walters Wiggles is pretty much all up hill and it all wiggles.

Moonlit trail – the Hoodoos

The Moonlit trail is a walk that you do in Bryce you do it when there’s a full moon and when it’s about 7’o clock pm of course. If you are going to do it I would do it in the summer if I were you. On the trail there are rangers which tell you about the moon, why wolfs howl and lots more. There’s a bit on the walk where it looks like a city down below you because of all the hoodoos.

South Kaibab trail

The South Kaibab trail is in the Grand Canyon.

In some of the hike you only have about 1 and a half metres of space but if you slip it would be worst than slipping on Angels Landing because it’s quite a big drop. I kept on slipping so I was getting quite scared about falling off.

Cathedral Rock

Cathedral Rock is a hike which Pappy and Oma recommend, the hike is in Sedona I would say this is my favourite hike so far in North America and my favourite hike that I have ever done. Basically it’s like doing rock climbing but even cooler. It’s a path, which this time is quite nice because if you slip you wouldn’t die because you have a lot of room. There’s a bit of it which is really narrow (by narrow I mean there’s like a wall and you have to shimmy through it).

These are just a few of my favourites but there have been lots more.
