Hello… remember us? We were that crazy family that ran away from real life and spent 1 1/2 years seeking adventure in our motorhome round North America…

We have now been back almost 1 1/2 years and somehow I haven’t found the time to write the final chapter of our travels.

When we left Boston on Saturday 7th June we knew we were going to dip our toes into ‘real life’ for 6 weeks then fly back for the ‘last chapter’.

This was to be 6 weeks in which we were to complete the loop and end up back where we started in Halifax, Nova Scotia to put Frankie back on a ship to the UK.

We quite enjoyed a bit of routine and familiarity when we were back in the UK but by the end of the 6 weeks were desperate to get back to Frankie and our adventures.

We then had an incredible last 6 weeks over the summer of 2015. Ticked off a few more states, visited some more National Parks and met up with some dear friends we had made on the road. And it is this final chapter that I still need to write up.

Back to real life once and for all in September 2015. The kids had absolutely no problem adapting. Straight back to school, back to their sports teams, picked up with their friends and generally just got back on with it all.

John and I not so much. Lovely to be home with friends and family but very boring waking up in the same place every day. Very boring having to do the same driving every day – back and forward to school and not on to new destinations each day. All just a little bit boring this routine and real life…

But here we are 1 1/2 years on and I still haven’t managed to write up the last few weeks.  I will….honest….soon….
